Peer Workforce Development
Tasmania’s Peer Workforce.
Professionally engaging people with lived experience in our mental health sector has endless benefits. MHCT is proud to have received funding to develop Tasmania’s first Peer Workforce Development Strategy, a commitment made in the Rethink Tasmania’s Mental Health Plan. This two-year project will see through the development and implementation of a Peer Work Force Strategy that has been created with appropriate consultation and creativity and is consistent with current literature around peer work. As this project develops, MHCT will be promoting opportunities for consultation, please subscribe to our enews if you would like to stay up to date with these opportunities.
In addition to the above project, MHCT co facilitates the Community of Practice (CoP) for Organisations that Engage Peer Workers. In conjunction with The Mental Health Drug and Alcohol Directorate, we bring people from the public, private and not for profit sector together, to share resources and discuss experiences relating to the engagement of peer workers. The CoP is open to any employer that directly or indirectly engages peer workers, if you would like more information about this group please email our project officer Brittany, at email@example.com.
