The Mental Health Council of Tasmania (MHCT) is a member based peak body. We represent and promote the interests of community managed mental health services and have a strong commitment to enabling better access and outcomes for every Tasmanian.

Mental Health Promotion

The Mental Health Council of Tasmania promotes and supports mental health promotion campaigns and activities that promote positive mental health and wellbeing. We want everyone to consider maintaining and taking steps to look after your mental health just as you should your physical health.

Working in conjunction with our members and other key stakeholders, MHCT supports several different mental health promotion initiatives. In particular:

  • Mental Health Week: MHCT Coordinates and promotes all state-wide Mental Health Week events each year. For more information click here
  • R U OK? Day and World Suicide Prevention Day: MHCT is a member of the Tasmanian Suicide Prevention Community Network. As part of the network we support initiatives that look to prevent suicide through practical campaigns such as R U OK? Day that celebrates the power of a conversation. To learn more click here.
