MHCT is working to support and represent our sector in relation to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its rollout across Tasmania.
In August 2018, Primary Health Tasmania has received new Australian Government funding under the PHN Program for psychosocial support services to improve the health of Tasmanians with mental illnesses that are serious, but don’t permanently reduce their day-to-day functioning. NDIS Mental Health Access Snapshots, provided by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). The purpose of these snapshots is to provide specific, detailed information to people with psychosocial disability, their supporters, and service providers. These snapshots are designed to assist people to understand the requirements of the access process in relation to psychosocial disability, and demystify the access process. These snapshots have been co-designed with members of the National Mental Health Sector Reference Group and people with lived experience. These are for public use and we encourage wide dissemination.
